“It is understood that the beauty of a rainbow does not negate the revenges of any storm. When a rainbow appears, it does not mean that the storm never happened or that we are not still dealing with it’s aftermath. It means that something beautiful and full of light has appeared in the midst of the darkness and clouds. Storm clouds may still hover, but the rainbow provides a counterbalance of color, energy and hope.”

Every baby I meet and have the honor to photograph is beautiful and loved and I just love this ‘job’ so much, but it is so, so special when a mama shares with me that their sweet babe is their ‘rainbow baby’. I can’t begin to imagine what families go through but I feel so honored to be part of their journey, capturing these precious moments for them to cherish forever.

These images are from a recent session, a sweet little boy, and although I’ll admit I had a hard time using purple and making it ‘masculine’ (which, shouldn’t have been hard since I live in Vikings country , ha:)), I truly love what we did and ended up with. Individually, the images are beautiful and unique, perfect for this family to remember him forever at this stage, but collectively they help tell the story of the journey. The journey of this family’s storm…and their hope.
